SIETAR FORUM 2012+38 - Global Integral Competence: Mind, Brain, Culture and System

Everybody is talking about the need for radical change, and some are even starting to see solutions in each field: politics, medicine, economics, society, etc. However - and most of us forget - "No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it." (Einstein)

To solve the problems, we have to move to the next level of consciousness and communication. Barnett Pearce (1989) proposes a stage model on the evolution of communication in a multicultural society. According to the model, the form of communication in the social evolutionary process develops itself over four levels: (a) “Monocultural communication”; (b) “Ethnocentric communication”; (c) “Modernistic communication”; (d) “Cosmopolitan communication”..

We “interculturalists“ are confronted, in our working areas, with the question of which intercultural competence is going to be required for the level of “cosmopolitan communication” in the future. To answer this question we need a good future-oriented “map“ that can show us the evolutionary process of communication. In the SIETAR Forum 2012+38 we will, on the basis of a map (AQAL Model from Ken Wilber), go one step towards the paradigm shift of intercultural communication by dealing in numerous events with the following questions:

1. How shall our communication in the future (2050) – cosmopolitan communication - be?
2. How can intercultural competence be developed in order to make "cosmopolitan communication" possible?
3. How can various training approaches in areas of mind, brain, culture and system be integrated?

4 pre-conference workshops, 2 keynote lectures, 4 input-dialogues, 32 workshops in areas of mind, culture, brain and system by trainers, consultants and researchers from Asia, Europe and America

Alle reden vom Umbruch und suchen nach Lösungen - jeder in seinem Bereich: die Politik, Medizin, Wirtschaft, Gesellschaft usw. Jedoch - und das vergessen die Meisten - sind die Lösungen für die (meist hausgemachten) Probleme nicht mit den bekannten Mitteln zu lösen oder mit Einstein gesprochen: “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”

Um die Probleme zu lösen, müssen wir zur nächsten Stufen des Bewusstseins und Kommunikation gelangen. Barnett Pearce (1989) schlägt ein Stufenmodell der Evolution von Kommunikation in der multikulturellen Gesellschaft vor. Nach dem Modell entwickelt sich die Form der Kommunikation im gesellschaftlichen Evolutionsprozess über vier Stufen: (a) „Monocultural communication“; (b) „Ethnocentric communication“; (c) „Modernity communication“; (d) „Cosmopolitan communication“.

Wir "Interkulturalisten" sind in unseren Arbeitsfeldern mit der Frage konfrontiert, welche interkulturelle Kompetenz in Zukunft für die Stufe von “cosmopolitan communication” erforderlich ist. Um diese Frage zu beantworten, brauchen wir eine gute zukunftsorientierte "Landkarte", die uns den Evolutionsprozess der Kommunikation zeigen kann. Im SIETAR Forum 2012 +38 können wir anhand einer Landkarte (AQAL-Modell von Ken Wilber) einen Schritt zum Paradigmenwechsel der interkulturellen Kommunikation gehen, indem wir uns mit den folgenden Fragen in zahlreichen Veranstaltungen beschäftigen:

1. wie soll unsere Kommunikation in Zukunft (in 2050) - cosmopolitan communication - sein?
2. wie soll die interkulturelle Kompetenz entwickelt werden, um diese “cosmopolitan communication” zu ermöglichen?
3. wie können verschiede Trainingsansätze in Bereichen Geist, Gehirn, Kultur sowie System integriert werden?
